Milwaukee, WI (February 20, 2019) – Health Payment Systems (HPS) is pleased to announce the addition of Chief Strategy Officer Mark Xistris to its growing leadership team. Xistris brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to his new position.
“We are thrilled to have Mark join our talented leadership group,” said Terry Rowinski, HPS president and CEO. “Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and innovative thinking to our team, and we’re eager to see his ideas roll out.”
As the chief strategy officer, Xistris will lead the continued evolution of HPS’ Wisconsin business strategy focused on expanding its statewide provider network to bring new cost-effective solutions to the Wisconsin marketplace.
Xistris previously served as the chief administrative officer for Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative, a non-profit Wisconsin health insurance cooperative. He also served as vice president of provider relations at WPS Health Insurance and vice president of business development and provider relations for The Alliance.
“Mark’s deep knowledge of the employee benefits and provider contracting space will help us produce innovative solutions for the broker and consulting community, ultimately helping employers who want to discern truth from fiction as they create health and wellness benefit plans for their employees,” said Rowinski.
During his 18 years at The Alliance, a non-profit cooperative of members who self-fund their own health plans, Xistris led provider relations and contracting strategy, new business and revenue projects, distribution channel management, and the health care value measurement function.
“I’m looking forward to joining HPS and working with brokers and TPAs to empower employers and patients to gain control of their healthcare bills and offer solutions to help address rising health care costs,” said Xistris. “HPS’ proprietary technology, that delivers one statement for consumers and one payment for providers, enhances the health care experience for all involved.”
Xistris received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Arizona State University and received his master’s degree in health care fiscal management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business. Xistris also spends time giving back to the community. He serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Access Community Health Centers (a Federally Qualified Health Center and safety net provider), and volunteers as a patroller for the National Ski Patrol.
