For an executive who helped launch Kohl’s Department Stores’ first foray into e-commerce and played a key role at e-commerce costume sensation BuySeasons.com, Terry Rowinski describes himself in not-very-cutting-edge terms.

“I’m a business process and tech person at heart,” Rowinski says. “A math and process-type person.”

While first impressions of Rowinski fit his self-description as conservative techno-nerd, they belie a fire inside to take risks that will result in growing the company he now leads — Health Payment Systems Inc.
